The genesis of Barakat dates to 1976 with our humble beginnings in the trade of fruits and vegetables in the Al Hamriya market, Dubai. Founded on principles of uncompromising quality, enduring dedication to customer service and serving only the very best of fresh, Barakat has come a long way since the early days where our founder, Mr. Mahmood Fouladfard, would personally tour Europe to pick up fruits and vegetables then unavailable in the Middle East.
Over the years, the Barakat portfolio has grown to include convenient, high-quality fresh juices, cut fruits & veggies, ice cream & ice pops and a variety of hot kitchen items, made fresh by our internal team of highly qualified chefs.
Today, Barakat is one of the leading suppliers of a diverse spectrum of fresh produce to five-star establishments, Class A retailers and major airline catering companies in the UAE. With 2 business units, 6 large, state-of-the-art refrigerated facilities spread across UAE, 350 refrigerated vehicles, and over 1,500 passionate, multinational employees, Barakat’s reach has grown beyond UAE to premium establishments in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Maldives and the Far East.
Barakat Vegetables & Fruits Co (BVFC) supplies whole fresh fruits & vegetables to premium establishments while Barakat Quality Plus (BQP), produces freshly squeezed juices, cut fruits & vegetables, salads, ice cream & ice pops and a variety of hot kitchen items – all with no additives or preservatives – to hotels, airlines, restaurants and retail.
In 2018, Barakat introduced barakatfresh.ae, an online ordering & home delivery portal bringing together all the fresh Barakat Group propositions under one umbrella. With just a few clicks, consumers can have their Barakat fresh produce delivered straight to their doorsteps in as little as 3 hours from placing the order.
